A splash of colour at Mount Gould Hospital garden

It was a team effort sprucing up the communal garden in June at our Mount Gould Hospital project, which is used regularly by patients recovering from surgery, their visitors and by hospital staff during breaks.

Following extreme weather conditions in March, the fencing had to be replaced and our volunteering team decided it could do with brightening up. gbp's Kevin Wortley C.I.W.F.M, Sharon Wren of Community Health Partnerships, Jason Fraser of Kier Group FM, Elaine Nicholl of University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust picked up their paintbrushes and tools, and with help from Elaine's three year old son Finnley (also the unofficial site foreman) carried out the makeover. Along with a brand new table and benches expertly assembled by Jason, the hospital garden is now looking cheerful and welcoming, and will no doubt be a lovely place for hospital users and staff to enjoy some fresh air.

Thanks to the whole team for the great use of volunteering time!
